Allergy Screening

Before we can begin treatment, we need to identify what you are allergic to. By identifying the allergens to which your body reacts, we can develop a tailored treatment plan that allows you to live comfortably while avoiding triggers, as well as troublesome symptoms like allergic rhinitis, eczema, and more severe reactions.

Skin tests are the most effective tool in screening for allergies, and they’re also extremely efficient. In as little as 15 minutes we’ll have a profile depicting how your body reacts to common allergens, which means we can move onto the next step in the process: outlining a treatment regimen. Robert W. Eitches, MD & Maxine B. Baum, MD - Robert W. Eitches, MD & Maxine B. Baum, MD - Tower Allergy also utilizes blood tests and patch tests to ensure no stone is left unturned in providing you with the best treatment available.

Spirometry

If you have asthma or COPD, or if you have difficulty breathing, we can analyze your lung function and help you find the root of the problem. Spirometry is a pulmonary examination used to assess lung function by measuring the amount of air inhaled and exhaled, and the speed of exhalation. It’s used both diagnostically and as a means of monitoring chronic conditions, which means it’s a great way to check the effectiveness of treatments for patients with chronic breathing problems.

Spirometry Is Frequently Used for Patients with the Following Conditions:

  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis, or a family history of bronchitis
  • Emphysema, or a family history of emphysema
  • Chronic cough
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Shortness of breath
  • Smoking, or exposure to secondhand smoke

Each measurement takes just a few minutes, and results are available immediately. Additional testing may be required to accurately diagnose asthma or other chronic lung conditions.
